Hello and thank you for visiting!  During my 14 years working with Buyers and Sellers in the Vermont Real Estate Market I have enjoyed making many new friends.  Whether working with a repeat client/ customer or meeting someone new, I will personally attend to your Real Estate needs.  I am an active member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS, VERMONT ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS, RUTLAND COUNTY BOARD OF REALTORS, and ADDISON COUNTY BOARD OF REALTORS.  I am also a member of the VERMONT ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS Liaison Committee and RUTLAND COUNTY BOARD OF REALTORS Affiliates Committee.

Education is important to me.  Although 16 hours of Continuing Education is required every 2 years, I typically take in excess of 30.  By being informed of the changes to the Vermont Real Estate Laws I am better able to serve the needs of my customers and clients.

Community involvement includes Castleton Lions Club (2nd Vice President), Fair Haven Concerned (Board of Directors), Regional Ambulance Service (Board of Directors), Order of Eastern Star-Fair Haven, Castleton Historical Society and the Fair Haven Chamber of Commerce.

I moved to Rutland in 1986 from western Pennsylvania with my husband and 2 sons. In 2000, Aleda Dutton sold my home in Rutland. We became friends and she convinced me to get my real estate license, which I did in 2001. A retiring REALTOR® (Al Trepanier) in the office where I worked at the time, suggested I get involved with the Rutland County Board of REALTORS®; which I did. I started on the Board of Directors, became Secretary then President-Elect and in 2005 President. I served on several committees locally and for the Vermont Association of REALTORS®. In 2006 I was asked to replace the VAR Treasurer who had to resign for personal reasons. I then served as VAR President-Elect and in 2008 as President of the Vermont Association of REALTORS®. It has been fun, very rewarding and very educational to have served the REALTOR® organization.

I enjoy helping people with their real estate needs; it’s a very satisfying profession. Real estate transactions can be an emotional experience for buyers and sellers. There’s nothing like seeing the excitement of home buyers when they finally find the home that suits their needs, then seeing them handed the keys to their new home at the closing. Whether it’s their first home or 3rd, a vacation home, their retirement home or an investment property, it’s awesome knowing I played a part in their happiness. To be able to assist a seller to find a buyer for the property they are selling and helping them through the process is also rewarding.

As rewarding as this profession is, it’s also hard work. There are rules, laws and regulations to learn that can and do affect transactions. I have taken many continuing education classes beyond what the state requires and obtained my ePRO certification and Certified Residential Specialist designation in 2003 so I can serve my customers and clients to the best of my ability. And I will continue to do so (my husband says until I’m 80).

My husband Jim & I still live in Rutland. Our family has grown as our 2 sons have given us two wonderful daughters-in-law and 3 awesome grandsons. Besides spending time with our family, Jim and I love to go camping in our motor home during the summer (at 5 miles to the gallon, we don’t go far very often). My favorite camping spots are Kampersville at Lake Dunmore and by the ocean at Hampton Beach State Park, NH. Besides camping, I like reading, crocheting and vacationing in Las Vegas when we can.
